This position requires that the incumbent work cooperatively with Division Staff, dam owners, consultants, and the general public. Knowledge of Relevant Dam Safety, General Engineering Work Experience including reviewing plans and specifications for civil construction projects, performing land surveys for civil projects, construction inspections for civil projects, making engineering calculations, performing engineering studies, preparing engineering reports, California or Federal design codes, manuals, and regulations, field inspections of structures like bridges, civil infrastructure, hydraulic structures, tunnels, pipelines, or dams, field or laboratory tests, acting as the lead person to other Engineers, supervising the construction of civil projects, dam safety related projects, Knowledge of design of structures, including reinforced concrete and masonry, structural steel, and timber; hydraulics; soils and soil mechanics, evaluating dam instrumentation data, working with outside agencies, engineering consultants, or the general public on civil projects. Must have excellent communication skills, exercise good judgment, and maintain consistent, regular, and predictable attendance. This position requires frequent overnight travel and driving a vehicle on public roadways and/or in the field on uneven terrain.
