ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (PERMANENT FULL TIME) – DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT / CONTRA-SOLANO SECTOR / MOUNT DIABLO STATE PARK
The reporting location for this position is Mount Diablo State Park, on 96 Mitchell Canyon Road in Clayton, California. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory).
The Diablo Range District is looking for an Environmental Scientist who will be responsible for the planning, enhancement and protection of Mt. Diablo State Park's natural resources. This position may act as Lead Person when working with Park Maintenance Assistants, Laborers, Sr. Maintenance Aides, Maintenance Aides, Inmate Crews, Conservation Crews, or Volunteers. This is a safety-sensitive position, as it will involve work with chainsaws and dealing with fire.
Mount Diablo State Park is home to natural geological attractions, campgrounds, trails, and the famous view from its summit.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
