Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent, Full-time, Quality Improvement Manager, Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) position in the Standards Compliance Department (SCD) under the administrative direction of the Standards Compliance Director and clinical supervision of the Nurse Administrator.
Responsibility: The Quality Improvement Manager is responsible for the administrative and clinical supervision of nursing staff and analysts within the Quality Improvement section and provides oversite on Performance Improvement (PI) activities, Clinical Risk Management (CRM), and Patient Safety Events; coordinates, tracks, and audits compliance with outside regulatory agencies including The Joint Commission (TJC) and California Department of Public Health (CDPH); ensures compliance with Title 22 Licensing Regulations; collaborates with department leadership, TJC Chapter Leaders, and executive staff to monitor the hospital’s sustainability plans to meet regulatory compliance; oversees CDPH and TJC licensure survey preparation activities, assigns escorts, provides chart review, and conducts tours in secured treatment areas including patient living quarters; and advises on policy matters related to quality improvement and regulatory agencies.
This position is responsible for managing a complex and demanding workload, overseeing multiple priorities and deadlines, and requires a high level of professionalism, initiative, critical thinking, and adaptability. The Quality Improvement Manager is expected to maintain confidentiality, privacy, and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personal Information (PI); maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; have excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and work well under pressure; ability to work positively with all levels of level of management, supervisors, and staff; comply with hospital policies and procedures; and report to work on time.
The SRN must possess the following:
KNOWLEDGE: Professional nursing principles and techniques; medical terminology; hospital routine and equipment; and medicines and narcotics.
