Job Description and Duties

As the Directorate and Operations Support Supervisor (Supervisor II), you will work directly with executive leadership to advance ODI’s priorities. Acting as a central operational gatekeeper, you will lead a dedicated administrative team, manage high-visibility initiatives, and provide strategic policy, fiscal, and operational support to the Director and Chief Deputy Director.


What you'll do
  • Supervise and evaluate the administrative operations team, establish priorities, and assign workloads.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Directorate on complex policy, fiscal, legislative, and organizational matters.
  • Oversee departmental workflows, including facilities coordination, asset management, records retention, workplace safety, and non-IT procurement.
  • Monitor the progress of major departmental projects, executive deadlines, and Budget Change Proposals (BCPs).
  • Draft briefing materials, reports, presentations, and high-level correspondence for the Director.
  • Represent ODI and coordinate directly with statewide control agencies (including GovOps and the Department of Finance), leadership, and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions

The employee’s workstation is located in Sacramento, CA or Oakland, CA. Travel to the Sacramento headquarters may be required as needed.

This position may be eligible for a telework opportunity in accordance with departmental policies and operational needs. Employees are currently required to work in-person at least two (2) days per week. Beginning July 1, 2026, employees will be required to work in-person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. Additional in-office days may be required based on operational needs.
