Job Description and Duties

The Office of Data and Innovation is hiring a Learning Technology Systems Administrator to join the CalAcademy Team. In this role, you will play a key role in designing and implementing digital learning technology systems, including the learning management system (LMS), and supporting learner experience across ODI and other agency divisions.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Administer and support Learning Management Systems (LMS) or enterprise learning platforms.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolving system or user support requests.
  • Analyze operational issues and recommend practical technology solutions.
  • Coordinate technology implementation or operational support for virtual or hybrid learning programs.
  • Develop operational procedures, documentation, workflows, or standard operating practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to implement technology solutions.
  • Support e-learning content deployment using enterprise authoring or publishing tools.

Working Conditions

ODI staff reside throughout California. The employee’s workstation is located in Sacramento, Oakland, Los Angeles, and/or San Diego, CA. Travel to the Sacramento headquarters may be required as needed. This position provides telework opportunities in accordance with agency telework policies.

Special Requirements

  1. Describe your experience administering enterprise learning technology systems, such as a Learning Management System (LMS), virtual learning platforms, or other digital learning technologies. Include the systems you administered, your responsibilities for configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support, and explain the impact your work had on system reliability, operational efficiency, user experience, or organizational outcomes.
  2. Describe a time when you identified an opportunity to improve a technology-enabled process, workflow, or learning program. Explain how you analyzed the business need, evaluated potential solutions, implemented improvements, and measured the impact of your work on accessibility, efficiency, customer experience, or program effectiveness.
  3. Describe your experience planning, coordinating, and delivering remote or virtual training using learning technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms. Include your role in preparing the technology, supporting facilitators and participants, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a successful learning experience. Describe the impact your work had on the quality, accessibility, reliability, or effectiveness of the training delivery.
