• Skill in delivering educational programs, public presentations, guided tours, or interpretive talks.
• Knowledge of California history, museum practices, or cultural resource interpretation.
• Ability to develop interpretive materials, guided tours, or educational curriculum aligned with state standards.
• Experience working with school groups, teachers, or youth audiences.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with the public in person, by phone, and by email.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, management, docents, and volunteers.
• Experience planning or assisting with special events or public programs.
• Administrative skills such as scheduling, recordkeeping, reservation coordination, or basic accounting.
• Familiarity with museum operations, collections handling guidelines, and visitor safety practices.
• Ability to remain attentive to safety concerns and report issues responsibly.
• Comfort working outdoors or in variable weather conditions, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Experience following established emergency procedures or operational protocols.
• Reliability in completing opening and closing procedures, daily operations, and fee collection.
• Ability to navigate uneven surfaces, perform physical tasks, and work in dusty historic environments.
