Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent Full-Time Property Controller I (PCI). The vacancy exists in the Medical Services Department and is under the direct supervision of the Supervisor I. Scheduled work hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday with weekends off but are subject to change based on operational needs. A Training and Development opportunity may also be considered.
The Property Controller I receives, stores, tracks, and maintains inventory records for medical supplies and equipment used throughout the hospital. The position coordinates supply requests and procurement activities, monitors stock levels to help ensure supplies are available for patient care, and tracks equipment maintenance. These duties are performed in accordance with departmental policies, infection control standards, safety, and security requirements, and applicable regulations.
Knowledge of:
Microsoft Office application, including Excel for inventory tracking, data analysis, and report generation, Word for documentation, and Outlook for communication; principles and practices of inventory control, medical equipment, and supply chain management; medical supplies, equipment, and materials used in the units across the hospital; infection control standards, storage requirements, and safety regulations related to medical supplies; purchasing processes, contracts, and procurement guidelines; infection control standards, storage requirements, and safety regulations related to medical supplies; recordkeeping methods, inventory systems, and data tracking tools; basic maintenance and tracking requirements for medical equipment; and applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., licensing, audits, and inspections).
Ability to:
Read and write English at a level required for successful job performance; inspect, determine condition of, and recommend proper disposition of property; reconcile inventories with control accounts; analyze situations accurately and take effective action; speak and write effectively; and instill in others an awareness of their responsibility for State property maintenance and accounting. Candidate must possess strong knowledge and experience in inventorying and tracking equipment, competency to understand and adhere to various policies and regulations, capability to work independently, ability to maintain accurate records, great organizational skills, strong communication skills, and basic computer skills.
