In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and hands-on experience with analytical instruments—particularly gas chromatographs—are highly desirable. Candidates must possess a solid understanding of instrumental analysis, laboratory quality assurance and quality control practices, and statistical data analysis. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
The most competitive candidates will demonstrate a direct, work-related experience in mobile source laboratory operations; a specialized expertise in fuel analysis and fuel related regulations; and the ability to manage, interpret, and evaluate large datasets and technical reports.
Successful applicants will be capable of working both independently and collaboratively with staff, stakeholders, and clients. They must exercise sound judgment when analyzing fuel property data, interacting with peers and partners, applying effective customer service practices, and performing reliably under pressure.
Applications will be screened, and only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited for an interview.
