Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager II in the Foundations Division, the Senior Legal Typist is responsible for legal administrative duties for four or more attorneys.  The Foundations Division is responsible for all legal and administrative support for the agency’s Administrative Law Judges and Tax Counsels. The Senior Legal Typist performs legal typing and clerical work that may involve performing related office work required in preparing and processing a variety of legal documents. The Senior Legal Typist will be responsible for maintaining confidential and administrative files, redacting personal information from documents, proofreading, formatting, cite-checking, mailing of appeal decisions, and other administrative and support tasks necessary to fulfill the mission of the Department.

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) a Must provide a valid typing certificate for 45 WPM Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.

  • Perform difficult legal clerical work including the ability to process a large variety of documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in order to successfully achieve objectives.
