Under general direction of the Information Technology Manager II, the Senior Network Engineer, Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II), acts as a network lead and serves as the advanced technical specialist performing complex analytical studies and activities on complex information technology (IT) systems, projects, and teleprocessing network systems for Covered California. As a member of the senior technical team, provides IT expertise on network infrastructure through strategic planning, acquisitions, deployments, and network operational management. Communicates and maintains strong working relationships with customers, peers, management, service providers, and other departments. This position serves under the domain of Systems Engineering. Duties may include access to information systems containing protected enrollee information, including federal tax information, protected health information, and personally identifying information.

Salaries do not reflect recent changes necessitated by the unanticipated budget shortfalls arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022, this position is subject to a base pay salary reduction of 9.23% in exchange for 16 hours of Personal Leave Credits per month.
This position is located in Sacramento near CalExpo, but near full-time or full-time remote work may be possible through at least December 31, 2020.
