Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II (SSM II), Chief, Classification and Certification Section, the Associate Personnel Analyst (APA) independently performs the more responsible, varied, and technical personnel work, including that related to the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) response. The APA works in close partnership with other staff within the Human Resources Division (HRD) on matters of mutual concern and to provide quality service to the California Department of Public Health’s programs.

Please note: The Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility list may be used as an appropriate for the Associate Personnel Analyst. Candidates with Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility must also meet the minimum qualifications for the Associate Personnel Analyst classification in order to be eligible for appointment.

Department Information

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is dedicated to optimizing the health and well-being of the people in California.

The Human Resources Division (HRD) provides guidance, support and expertise to the CDPH on recruitment, development and retention of quality employees in order to fulfill the department’s mission.

The HRD is located in downtown Sacramento in the East End Complex across the street from the beautiful Capitol Park Rose Garden.
