Job Description and Duties

The California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) Office of Legal Services (OLS) is recruiting to fill an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) position on the Regulations, Privacy, and Special Projects team, located within OLS in Sacramento. The AGPA is independently responsible for the administration of the CDPH-wide tracking system for Public Records Act (PRA) requests. The AGPA provides organizational and administrative analysis relating to the assigning and tracking of the PRAs received. Additionally, the AGPA provides support services to the Privacy team related to analyzing potential privacy breach incidents for CDPH. The AGPA will provide guidance to and work cooperatively with PRA coordinators throughout CDPH to ensure consistency, timeliness, and compliance in processing PRA requests.    

This is a 12-month Limited-Term, Full-Time position that may be extended or become Permanent in the future.

Department Information

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) works to protect the public’s health and helps shape positive health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.  CDPH’s responsibilities include infectious disease control and prevention, food safety, environmental health, laboratory services, patient safety, emergency preparedness, chronic disease prevention and health promotion, family health, and vital records and statistics.  CDPH works to reduce health and mental health disparities among vulnerable and underserved communities to achieve health equity throughout California.

The Office of Legal Services (OLS) within CDPH partners with program clients and others to provide creative and effective legal solutions to support, protect, and advance the health and well-being of all Californians. OLS is comprised of five legal teams and an Administrative Support team. This position will be working under the Regulations, Privacy, and Special Projects team.
