Job Description and Duties

Do you want the opportunity to help lead and create innovative policy guidelines, strategize system-wide changes, and respond to public housing crises in real-time? Consider joining the Housing and Homelessness Branch within the California Department of Social Services. We believe that high-performing teams include people from different backgrounds and experiences who can challenge each other's assumptions with fresh perspectives. To that end, the Housing and Homelessness Branch within the California Department of Social Services seeks a diverse pool of applicants including those from historically marginalized groups. We are seeking passionate candidates that have an interest in or personal or professional knowledge of housing and homelessness policy work and enjoy supervising in a fast-paced, collegiate work environment. Managers in this Branch are responsible for overseeing Analyst development of program policy and implementation for new and innovative programs designed to serve some of California's most vulnerable individuals and families, including Project Roomkey. This provides for a unique opportunity to further grow leadership skills in the policy development, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and program implementation.

Working Conditions

This work location is very convenient!  The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation; within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer’s markets and the Golden 1 Arena. We offer an onsite cafeteria, onsite Golden 1 ATM and workout room. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50 and Highway 80.
