Job Description and Duties

Note: This is a Limited Term position for a duration of 12 months that may be extended up to 24 months and/or may become permanent.

The Human Resources Division (HRSD) is currently seeking a Limited Term Staff Services Analyst or Associate Governmental Program Analyst in our Employment Services Unit (ESU). The Employment Services Analyst (ESA) is responsible for providing a full range of complex, consultative, and analytical duties. The ideal candidate should have subject matter expertise in the areas of recruitment, exams, and/or classification and the ability to support and work in a fast-paced team environment.

Talent Acquisition:
• Provides consultation and guidance to team leaders and HR Liaisons throughout the hiring and selection process to:         
       o Hire the best talent at CalPERS to help us achieve our Mission and Vision.
       o Ensure hires are based on the Merit Principle and to find the best candidate for the job based on job-related competencies and are free from biases.
       o Supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at CalPERS.

Exam Administration:
• Provides an avenue for talent to appoint to State classifications and generates a candidate pool for future recruitments.
       o Conducts Job Analyses to ensure exams are based on the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed for the classification.
       o Processes exams from start to finish including, reviewing applications for minimum qualifications (MQs), administering and scoring the exam, and inputting scores in ECOS.
