Job Description and Duties

PARK AIDE - ADMINISTRATIVE (SEASONAL) – GREAT BASIN DISTRICT/HUNGRY VALLEY SECTOR/HUNGRY VALLEY STATE VEHICULAR RECREATIONAL AREA

 

 

The reporting location for this position is Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area, 46001 Orwin Way, Gorman, CA 93243. This position will work under supervision of the Staff Services Manager I.  

 

This position entails customer service, administration tasks and basic housekeeping. The position will interact with visitors to provide information in response to inquiries about parks located in the Hungry Valley Sector through various means such as telephone, fax, regular mail, email and in person. The park aide will be responsible for selling passes and keeping accountable documentation and preparing bank deposits and other administrative paperwork. The park aide will keep the front office work area neat, clean and visitor ready at all times. This position interacts with the public, good communication skills are a must. Verbal communication, listening skills and basic to intermediate computer knowledge and good interpersonal skills are also essential.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a live scan (background check) and have a clear DMV record. Class C Driver’s license is required.

 

Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program.  Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application.  Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub.  If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).

 

State housing is not available.
