Job Description and Duties

The Employment Development Department's Tax Branch is one of the largest tax collection agencies in the nation and we have an opening for one auditor in the Field Audit and Compliance Division, Van Nuys Area Audit Office, Ventura Audit Crew. This position may be filled at either the entry level, Tax Auditor (TAu) classification or at the promotional Associate Tax Auditor (ATA) level, for recruitment purposes.

Position Description:
The Tax Auditor, EDD conducts the least difficult and complex field audits and investigations of businesses and organizations for the purposes of the California Unemployment Insurance Code (CUIC) and California tax regulations. The primary responsibility is to conduct audits and investigations of less difficult, complex, and sensitive accounts, to ensure business entities are properly reporting their workers/wages and employment tax obligations while upholding California's tax laws and EDD's rules, regulations, procedures and policies.
Duties will be adjusted as appropriate, if filled at the promotional ATA level.

This position is located in Ventura, CA.

The Ventura office has free parking, spacious office areas, and is located a mere 10 minute drive from beautiful Ventura Beach!

NOTE: The office will also consider filling this position as out-stationed in Van Nuys, CA.

      Background Investigation Requirement

      The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation.

      The investigation will consist of completion of a personal history statement and fingerprinting checks with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and/or local law enforcement agencies.
