Job Description and Duties

This position offers an exciting opportunity to participate in delivering a new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) with Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS), a unique collaboration involving the Office of Systems Integration (OSI), California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and California’s Counties and Tribes.

Under the direction of the Architecture and Engineering Chief (ITM I), the Salesforce Administrator serves in a key state role in the iterative development and operation of the Child Welfare Services - California Automated Response and Engagement System (CWS-CARES). The Salesforce Administrator works closely with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify, configure, and deploy new business processes to support functional areas across the enterprise. The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for executing the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of the CWS-CARES products. The Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) serves as a Salesforce Subject Matter Expert, works on various proofs of concept for upcoming features using new features including Lightning Web Components (LWC). Acts as a Salesforce configurator, installing, configuring, and customizing App Exchange packages. The ITS I reviews the health of the Salesforce organization and ensures best practice principles are enforced in the platform.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
The candidate should have independently managed the Salesforce environments, controlled the production data access based on requirements, and have good experience in design and build. Minimum 3 years of experience in the following activities:
  • Service Cloud experience including case management and assignment. Should have configured and customized the case-related requirements.
  • Extensive experience in set-up and configuration of Salesforce environments. Should have design experience for Identity and Access management, complex sharing mechanism, and experience in role designing and creation. Knowledge of Process Builder, Lightning Flow, Community, etc.
  • Experience in database modeling, SQL, etc.
  • Experience on Agile framework and facilitated sprint meetings.
  • Active certified Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer I certification.
