The Employment Development Department's Information Technology Branch is looking for a highly motivated, creative, and analytical Principle Security Architect to work directly with management, other Technical Architects, Engineers and Associate service roles in the Enterprise Security Operations Section, other division sections, the Information Security Office, Enterprise IT and customers in support of the organization's client/server, multi-tier infrastructure.

The ideal Principle Security Architect candidate will have extensive experience in engineering and deploying security tools that would help protect Cloud infrastructure for Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) systems. The ideal candidate will also have experience with modern authentication protocols, integrating with SaaS platforms for extending on-premise security solutions, Next-Generation Antivirus, and log correlation.

Position exists in downtown Sacramento, located at EDD’s Headquarters office at 800 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California.

Working Conditions

  • Requires fingerprinting and background check.
  • May be required to travel to various offices and locations throughout the State and surrounding areas to provide client services and attend meetings, conferences and training.
  • May be required to travel via private or public transportation including overnight lodging.
  • May be required to carry a mobile device and be available by phone and/or email.
  • May be required to work outside of normal business hours: periodic off-shift and weekend work.
  • Works in an office environment operating a laptop, keyboard, mouse, monitor(s) and printers under non-natural lighting for prolonged periods.

Background Investigation Requirement
