Job Description and Duties

If you enjoy working in a team environment where you can apply your critical thinking and analytical skills to help protect critical Franchise Tax Board (FTB) systems and data that funds critical statewide services, like education and environment protection, then we have the perfect job opportunity for you!

We are looking for a self-motivated individual, who enjoys learning and collaborating with others, to lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for ensuring the department is in compliance with all Cyber Security laws at the state and federal level. The incumbent provides executive-level leadership to the department to establish the vision for the overall Cyber Security Program, which includes overseeing the development and implementation of policy, programs and processes to help FTB achieve that vision. The incumbent will establish and maintain relationships with management at all levels internal to FTB and external to FTB partners; including vendors, other CA State agencies, other states throughout the country and private industry. The incumbent will work with FTB leadership to ensure initiatives are successfully implemented and meet FTB's strategic and business goals. As the manager of the Cyber Security Program, with the guidance of the Bureau Director, the incumbent will have full management responsibility and function independently by planning, directing, coordinating, and organizing the more difficult, critical, and sensitive assignments impacting the business processes, enterprise data, and applications. The incumbent will have many opportunities to carry out FTB's mission and vision by working collaboratively and effectively with peers, subordinate staff, and senior managers throughout FTB to ensure the services supported by the team effectively meet our business partners' needs.
