Working under supervision of a Supervising Cook, the incumbent performs custodial duties in keeping a Region dormitory clean and orderly and other duties as assigned. The incumbent may be required to work temporary and/or intermittent varied work shifts and required to work overtime, work temporary and/or intermittent varied work shifts and required to respond to emergency situations and calls. Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is highly desirable. Duties include but are not limited to:
Sweeping, vacuuming or mopping tile, stone, cement or carpeted floors using equipment or tools to maintain surfaces. Empties trash receptacles by either lifting or turning bins upside down into portable trash barrels for pushing to another disposal site. Cleans modular systems or free-standing furniture of woodwork to remove dust or polish surfaces using cloths or dusting tools and/or green polishing products, removes stains from carpet, tile, or stone floors using tools or equipment such as, but not limited to, a spray bottle and cleaning cloth, broom, brush, mop, vacuum(s), and uses wet or dry green products for cleaning spots.
Cleans restrooms daily using tools commonly used in the industry, applying green cleaning and disinfecting products. Cleans, disinfects and scrubs toilet fixtures, sinks, facets, counter tops, mirrors, toilet partitions and doors, dispenser cabinets, wipes down shower walls and doors. Mops floors using disinfectants from wall to wall including but not limited to around toilet fixtures.
Maintains immediate outside areas of facility in a clean and orderly manner by sweeping, watering, maintaining parking areas, sidewalks, garbage pickup areas, supply areas of kitchen, etc.
Cleans kitchen, washes dishes and maintains all areas of kitchen in a clean and sanitary condition.

When indoors, the Facilities have climate control and artificial lighting. May work outside in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold.
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
