SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - SAN LUIS OBISPO COAST DISTRICT / HEARST SAN SIMEON STATE PARK CAMPGROUND
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).
This position works under the direct supervision of the Supervising State Park Peace Officer and the general direction of the State Park Peace Officer Rangers. The reporting location is Hearst San Simeon State Park Campground in San Simeon, CA.
The Senior Park Aide position requires one year of experience in any one of the following: conducting educational programs, recreational programs, conducting public service programs, or customer service experience. Ideally, Senior Park Aide candidates will have cash handling experience.
This position will be adjusted to a Park Aide if the above minimum qualifications are not met. The salary range for a Park Aide is ($16.07-$18.40).
The incumbent will provide quality customer service, assist with checking in campers, answer visitor questions via phone or in person, explain rules and regulations, have a positive attitude, and willingness to be a team player. Job duties include operation of the campground kiosk, collection, and accounting of park fees, providing visitor information, assisting with interpretive activities, checking in campers, and camper reservation logistics. In addition, the incumbent should be proficient in basic use of a computer and able to check work e-mail account.
Work hours will vary; the incumbent may be required to work holidays, weekends, nights, and special events. We offer flexible hours and part-time work due to our isolated location. This position requires a valid California Class “C” Driver’s license. Applicants are subject to a Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
State housing is not available.
