Candidates are required to complete a Statement of Qualifications comprised of full and complete answers to the following three prompts. This statement should be no longer than two letter pages using Arial 12-point size font. Cover letters, resumes, and applications will not take the place of the Statement of Qualifications. Please also write the question itself as a prompt before answering it.
1. Please describe your experience managing policy and program design. Provide an example of a high-priority policy or program initiative that you successfully managed that had a significant impact. Identify any project management or organizational tools used.
2. This position will need someone who can quickly understand complex circumstances and information and effectively synthesize that information so it can be easily understood by various audiences. Please give an example of an experience in this kind of situation when you communicated with:
(a) Leadership within your organization
(b) Partners outside your organization
What was the outcome?
3. How do you go about completing time-sensitive assignments that involve getting work products from multiple contributors, including individuals who do not report to you?
You are required to complete employment history on the application form (STD 678). You may be disqualified from the recruitment process if the employment history is not complete. Resumes will not take the place of employment history.
If you are meeting minimum qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts for verification. If selected, you may be required to provide official transcripts at the time of hire.
Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are considered limited term, 12 months, and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
