Job Description and Duties

          This position may be filled at one of the following State Fund locations: Bakersfield, Fresno, Glendale, Pleasanton, Riverside, Rohnert Park, Sacramento, Santa Ana, San Diego, Stockton or Vacaville.

          State Fund‘s Corporate Communication department has an immediate opening for an experienced content manager. Our ideal candidate is a creative thinker with outstanding storytelling skills, strong writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities, experience with web analytics, and the ability to develop exceptional strategic communications plans.

          Primary functions include:
          1) Develop State Fund’s Storytelling Strategy Across a Mix of Assets and Channels
          • Align to the organization’s objectives and strategic goals
          • Develop communication strategies for various stakeholder groups, creating targeted campaigns that span both internal and external communication channels.
          • Research, plan, and develop impactful stories that engage the audience, influence behavior, and inspire positivity.
          • Develop gap analysis based on research, provide recommendations to help implement department and organization strategies.
          2) Build Creative Capabilities
          • Work with internal stakeholder groups to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
          • Scale, evaluate, experiment, and test with new content types and platforms.
          • Integrate tools such as Google analytics and new technologies to measure performance, analyze content impact, and adjust communication plans as needed.
          3) Drive Quality and Production
          • Establish measurements and track results for content across multiple channels.
          • Align appropriate communication resources and assets to various projects across the organization.
          • Standardize and refine creative briefs and other department templates.
          • Develop and manage editorial calendar across various types of content including intranet, company website, social media, press releases, and video.
          • Collaborate with content writers and creative services staff to produce interactive content for our intranet site.
          • Copy, edit, and proofread content created by other writers; provide detailed feedback and coaching when necessary.

          Working Conditions

          Telework may be available and is subject to change based on State Fund guidelines and business needs. Candidates must reside in California to be eligible for this appointment.

          Special Requirements

          Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office.  Expenses for Onboarding attendance would be paid by State Fund.
