Job Description and Duties

Virtual interviews are anticipated to be held the week of July 22, 2024.

Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

CalPERS seeks an Associate Governmental Program Analyst in the Customer Education and Outreach Division, External Education Services Section, Employer Education & Communications Unit (EECU).

EECU is responsible for providing CalPERS Retirement and Health Business Rules classes virtually, in-person and through computer-based modules. These classes are intended to provide employers with simplified explanations for often complex laws as defined by the California Public Employees’ Retirement Law (PERL). Additionally, EECU maintains employer communications and resources to ensure stakeholders remain up to date. The team also participates in outreach, forums and educational events.

As the communication analyst, you will:

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for the production and editing of diverse employer communications, such as Circular Letters and Employer Bulletins. 
  • Develop and refine publication content in accordance with the CalPERS Style Guide, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and high-quality writing. 
  • Serve as project manager for the production and editing of various employer communication services and resources. 
  • Conduct education classes and presentations state-wide in-person and virtually to employers.

Working Conditions

This position requires travel throughout California, including overnight stays, up to 25% of the time via automobile, airplane, and/or other methods of public transportation.

Statement of Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
