STAFF TAX AUDITOR - EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

The Tax Branch of the Employment Development Department (EDD) has one (1) immediate opening to fill a Staff Tax Auditor vacancy in the Field Audit and Compliance Division's, San Diego Area Audit Office's San Diego Audit Crew 2.
The EDD is responsible for conducting employment tax audits and investigations of businesses operating in California. The EDD also provides education to employers by conducting cost-free seminars and participating in outreach events.
Under the general direction of the Tax Administrator I, the Staff Tax Auditor (STA) conducts in-state and out of state audits and investigations of the most difficult, complex, and sensitive accounts typically involving the largest employers with multiple status issues and computerized accounting systems. The STA identifies and develops audit leads for out of state and local Area Audit Office (AAO), serves as the Department's audit and compliance representative in an out-stationed office, or in a headquarters setting; develops guidelines, training courses, and formulates policy and procedures to assist management in the administration of the Employment Tax Program. The STA may also serve as a lead-person.

This position is headquartered in San Diego, CA and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
