Job Description and Duties

State Fund is looking for bright, driven individuals to participate in our Emerging Leader Program. The goal of the Emerging Leader Program is to develop future leaders within the organization who will support State Fund's purpose to proudly serve California’s diverse businesses and workers by helping ensure our workers’ compensation system works today and in the future.

The program consists of two main components:

1.
A two-year curriculum of industry-leading training that includes in-person and virtual workshops, mentoring and coaching, job shadowing, online eLearning modules, and hands-on experience working in a business simulation.

2.
A two-year work rotation that will develop your understanding and skills in the core roles involved in being an insurance professional. Your roles may be in Underwriting, Claims, or other parts of the organization. 

Upon successful completion of the two-year work rotation, you will be placed in a permanent work assignment based on business needs.

Travel is required to live workshops. If selected, the target onboarding month is August 2026.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.

Special Requirements

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract.
