If you excel at turning insights into action, love teaching others and working with data, and are dedicated to improving processes, this may be the job for you! The Asset Management Unit (AMU) manages the department’s property inventory, and provides policy guidance, support and oversight, for all property, inventory, and fleet activities. Our mission is to excel in property control and fleet management by ensuring the seamless and secure oversight of DOJ assets. Through organization and innovative technologies, we support the DOJ mission while demonstrating transparency, integrity, and fiscal responsibility. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as the DOJ Property Controller.

As a DOJ Property Controller, you serve as one of two statewide property controllers, ensuring department assets are tracked from acquisition to end-of-life, and will lead in the development and revision of property policy, procedures, and guidelines.
You will also serve as the primary liaison and subject matter expert in the implementation, configuration, and integration of new asset management software including ServiceNow and Fi$CAL, leading collaboration between AMU, Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS), and external consultants for system configuration and deployment.

You work closely with your counterpart property controller to review purchase and inventory records, ensuring asset and financial data is reconciled, and producing a monthly report for submittal to the accounting office. As the subject matter expert for property control, you are in frequent contact with staff across DOJ to provide technical assistance, training, and policy guidance. You review request forms for accuracy, perform updates in the inventory database, lead the planning of physical inventory counts and development of the surplus auction program. Consistently, you help foster our commitment to an inclusive and supportive work culture, respecting each other’s differences and having the curiosity to learn.
