Associate Governmental Program Analyst, Health and Safety Analyst- Standards and Compliance -Permanent-Fulltime
The Health and Safety- Standards and Compliance Department has a full time permanent position for an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA). The position will function in a wide range of activities, including implementing and managing a myriad of DSH- Metropolitan’s safety programs. These include but are not limited to Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Hazardous Waste Management Program, Hazard Communication Program, and Heat Injury and Illness program.
The incumbent will also coordinate the hospital’s Environment of Care inspection program via inspection, assessment, and tracking of workplace injury/Hazard data to identify areas of deficiency. The H&S Analyst will facilitate activities to minimize risks in the Environment of Care by coordinating worksite inspections amongst subject matter experts, They will provide risk assessment by observing, documenting and facilitating resolution of unsafe conditions and environmental deficiencies. Observation and monitoring activities include visiting worksites of suspected of identified hazards then processing and tracking plans of corrections for identified deficiencies.
Computer knowledge, writing ability and verbal presentation skills are essential.
The position requires excellent attendance, strong analytical skills, good communication skills and must be able to work effectively with others. Incumbents will be responsible for preforming research, analyses, development, analytical assignments. General awareness of CalOSHA and DIR regulations and occupational safety and desirable.
